CELEBRATING ST PATRICK'S DAY 1º ESO B

Hi!

Today, Thursday 21st, we celebrated St Patrick's Day. A bit late but we finally did it!

Watch out!

LEARNING ABOUT CLOTHES: 1º ESO

On Thursday 8th and Friday 9th of February, 1st ESO have been learning about clothes. In this activity, Daniel prepared a conversation class in which students had to prepare their vocabulary to describe their mates' clothes.

Check out the pics!

GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY: 1st ESO GREEK ARCHITECTURAL STYLES

This week of February, 1st ESO A and B, that is, our bilingual students, learned about the Greek architectural styles in their History class.

As always, Daniel was there to help. Thank for the pictures to their bilingual teacher, José Ángel Mayoral.

Watch out some pics!

4th ESO: ENJOYING PHOTOGRAPHY

Check out some of the photos that our students took when our Language Assistant Daniel brought his professional camera to class.

It seems they really liked it, what do you think?

But... afternoon classes also got to practice conversation with the cameras. Check out some more pics!

CELEBRATION OF THE DAY OF PEACE

Watch out our REEL on INSTAGRAM with our celebration of the Day of Peace: 1º ESO B and D practised their singing skills by learning the song We Are The World.

Special mention to 2nd Bachillerato B students, who helped with the posters!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN YOUR FREE TIME? 1st ESO CONVERSATIONS

Following patterns to learn how to improvise is one of the ways in which 1st ESO students start learning how to be more independent in their speech.

Thanks Daniel for bringing this activity!

CHRISTMAS CARDS... FROM ITALY!!

Before Christmas, 1st ESO B wrote some Christmas cards with wishes to children from a high school in Napoli, Italy. This was a very rewarding activity: they got to create their own designs, we sent them in envelopes and last January... we received the Italian cards!!!

We were so excited to receive their messages so we took these pictures!

THANKSGIVING DAY AND TURKEY HANDS

Last November 23rd was Thanksgiving Day. To celebrate that, Daniel brought to our English class an amazing presentation about this cultural celebration.

Then, our students got to give thanks for something they are thankful. They followed the prompt I am thankful for...because... and the results are just amazing!

Have a look at them :)

FIFTY NIFTY UNITED STATES

Hey there!

This month our Language Assistan, Daniel, has been teaching our students the 50 states from the USA.

They had to guess the fifty states using an interactive game and then they had to complete the blank map.

We had such an amazin time!

US MIDDLE SCHOOL

Hello!

Last Thursday, 9th November, 1st ESO B students learned about the US Middle School.

Daniel explained how Middle School in the US would be the mix of 6th primary school and 1st-2nd ESO in Spain. He told us very interesting facts and... he explaned what is the pledge of allegiance! He told us it's about respect to the flag, but that not everybody does it as it is not compulsory (at least when you get older in his state). So... Here you have a demonstration!

CONVERSATIONS WITH DANIEL 1º ESO B AND D

Conversation is fun!

Students from 1º ESO B and D are learning how to establish short conversations in pairs. In order to do that, Daniel asked them to prepare in pairs a short dialogue using the methodology of a Role Play:

  • Students made pairs
  • Students filled in a Student Card with the following data: name (invented), class, hobby and family.
  • Students come to the front and pretend to be new at a school, so the introduce themselves with those data to the other person.

In that way, we have been practising useful vocabulary learned thought this month, as well as grammar and how to organise a conversation.

Thanks Daniel!

WELCOMING DANIEL, OUR LANGUAGE ASSISTANT!

Last week we were glad to welcome Daniel, our language assistant for this academic year 2023-24.

He started going to different classes on Tuesday 16th, so from that moment onwards he will be doing it until May! We are so happy to have him that we prepared a small welcoming snack in the teacher's room, where Moisés, our principal, dedicated some warm words to him. Also, Daniel payed back, and he spoke a bit to thank us and to tell us that he hopes to improve and get to know our culture.

So... wait for this year! In these two pictures you can see Daniel already with 1B class, doing his amazing presentation and letting our students knnow a bit more about him and his country.

Thanks Daniel, for being with us!

Keep updated!
